Kosmopolis is a sonic narrative of five completely different stories unfolding simultaneously in different places. Warsaw. Stare Miasto (the old town). Oviedo. Klunton. Polis. All of them take place in a bittersweet present drifting toward the unknown. A contemporary reality in which, more than ever before, what is new immediately becomes old. Open or closed? We ask questions and wait for answers.
Perhaps idealistically, but amid today’s media-driven, post–pop-cultural noise, we still want to believe in the power of music created from an inner need - in its agency and in its value for those who want not only to hear it, but to truly listen.
This album is “something” personal and identity-driven, yet genre-wise highly complex, mixed and layered like a modern-day polis. Kosmopolis.
